The following screen-shots show how to setup an Email account on an Android phone.
Before you begin, you will need to know the following:-
- Your Email account name and password
- Your mobile phone provider’s outgoing SMTP details. If in doubt please refer to the table of Outgoing SMTP names here. NB check with your provider if there are any connetion problems.
In these screen shots I have setup an Email account on my Android phone for JoWhite@Pod77.net.
Step 1. From Email select Create A New Account. Choose POP3.
Step 2. Select Manual Setup.
Step 3. Fill in your incoming setting.
Email address, Username and Password will have been provided to you.
The POP server will be fixed as mail.pod77.net
Step 4. Fill in Outgoing settings. Note the SMTP Server will be
the one specific for your mobile network provider.
Step 5. Fill in your Identity (to be shown on your Emails)
Step 6. You will now see your inbox. Maybe you’ll have
a welcome message.
Step 7. Send an Email to another account.
Verify the settings are correct.
